Why Every Great Debate Needs Coffee and Cake

What's the most delicious thing you've ever eaten?
There’s something about a small-town coffee shop that just hits different. My buddy used to own one, and it had that perfect vibe—comfy couch in the corner, good coffee, and always someone hanging around just shooting the breeze. One afternoon I stopped in just to chill for a bit and catch up.
We sat on that old couch, sipping coffee and debating something very important: who the best Spider-Man is. You know, the kind of totally serious discussion that requires caffeine and passion. I’m team Tobey Maguire all day—he’s the original. My buddy was throwing out arguments for Andrew Garfield like it was a courtroom drama.
Then I noticed something in the display case—tiramisu.
Now I’d heard of tiramisu before, sure. Always sounded fancy. But I’d never actually tried it. I asked him, “Is that real tiramisu?”
He just smiled and slid me a slice, like he knew my life was about to be divided into two parts: before tiramisu and after tiramisu.
I took a bite and damn… it was unbelievable. That creamy, coffee-soaked, sweet-but-not-too-sweet goodness melted in my mouth like it belonged there all along. I wasn’t just eating dessert—I was having a freakin’ revelation. It paired so perfectly with that coffee, the comic book debate, and the laid-back afternoon that I still think about it to this day.
Now? Anytime I see tiramisu on a menu, it’s an automatic yes. Doesn’t matter where I’m at—I’m getting it. It’s more than just a dessert now. It’s a reminder of a chill afternoon, a good laugh, a caffeine buzz, and finding something amazing when I wasn’t even looking for it.
Sometimes, life’s best moments come with a fork and a cup of coffee.
